In the past, most Windows users needed to reboot their computer and hit a specific key, such as Delete or F2, during the boot process to access the BIOS. On Windows 10, Microsoft has enabled access to the UEFI BIOS settings without requiring a system restart. This can save you a great deal of time when you need to adjust the hardware settings on your computer quickly.

How do you enter Windows 10’s BIOS without restarting?

Although you cannot access Windows’ BIOS directly without restarting the system, you can try these steps:

    1. Click the Settings icon to open.
    2. Select Recovery after clicking on Security & Update.
    3. Press the Reboot Now button right away. You’ll see the Select an option page when your computer restarts.
    4. Select the Advanced options after clicking on Troubleshoot.
    5. On UEFI Firmware Settings, click.
    6. Lastly, to restart your computer into BIOS, click the Restart button.

How to Use Command Prompt Without Rebooting?

If the above process isn’t successful, you can use the Command Prompt to access the BIOS in an alternate manner.

    1. To launch the Run dialogue box, use the Windows keyboard key + R.
    2. Enter cmd, then press OK.
    3. Enter the closing /r /o /f /t 00 command and hit Enter in the command-line window.

When you use this command, your computer will restart and boot straight into the motherboard’s BIOS interface.

Making a Desktop Shortcut for BIOS Entry

    1. On your desktop, right-click, choose New, and then choose Shortcut.
    2. In the develop shortcut window, enter the command shut /r /o /f /t 00.
    3. Click on Finish after giving the shortcut a name, such as Restart to BIOS.
    4. Select Properties with a right-click on the recently generated shortcut.
    5. Click the Advanced button after selecting the Shortcut tab in the Properties box.
    6. To save your changes, select Run as admin and then click OK.

When you double-click this shortcut, your computer will turn back on and boot into the BIOS dashboard.
